Valentine Party

Big Brother had a FUN Valentine party at school. They made a craft, played Valentine Bingo, decorated cookies and exchanged Valentine cards. I have NEVER seen kids get SO excited over Valentine cards. Who would have thought those little paper cards with some candy attached could make a kid so happy? I guess it's the little things...

Firsts...

This post was copied from Pink in a sea of blue and I thought it was fun.

1. Who was your FIRST prom date with? I asked the guy I had a crush on to the prom. He was only a sophomore. We started dating after prom-bad idea.

2. What is the name of your FIRST pet? Belle, a beautiful Irish Setter.

3. What was your FIRST alcoholic drink? California Coolers that came in a 2 liter bottle. Anyone remember this stuff?

4. What was your FIRST job? Collecting and analyzing 3 different species of ladybugs at Clemson Extension. Pretty cool job, but it sure was hot hunting for ladybugs in those corn fields.

5. What was your FIRST car? A Toyota Celica (my Dad's old car) with a cool hatchback. I thought it was the BEST thing in the world. Although it was a stick and took me quite a while to learn how to drive it.

6. Who was the FIRST person to text you today? No one has sent me a text today. I don't text yet, but a Blackberry and texting are in my near future.

7. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning? My 2 sons. It was almost 7 am and they were still asleep. If it was the weekend they would have been up by 6 am.

8. Who was your FIRST grade teacher? Mrs. Hill. We were all scared to death of her. I will never forget what she used to say to us if we made a mistake. "I am going to rattle your bones!" It was quite scary to be shaken by a cranky elderly woman at age 6. I don't know if I ever quite got over that now that I think about it!

9. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane? I was 2 weeks old and flew home from the army hospital where I was born.

10. Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk? My cousin Nichole and yes we still keep in touch, but do not talk as often as I would like.

11. Where was your FIRST sleep over? Probably at my friend and cousin Nichole's house.

12. Who was the FIRST person you talked to today? My hubby.

13. Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time? My uncle's wedding and I was the flowergirl at age 12. Pink bows on my dress and all. So sweet, but I did have big buck teeth b/c it was prior to getting braces on my teeth.

14. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning? Wake up my 2 boys and start my coffee.

15. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to? Chicago when I was 12.

16. FIRST tattoo? No tats on me. I do not inflict pain on myself voluntarily.

17. First piercing? ears at age 14

18. First foreign country you've been to? Never been.

19. FIRST movie you remember seeing? Swamp Thing and it was in 3D. Too cool at the time even on my little black and white tv.

20. What age were you when you had your FIRST child? 33

21. What was the first state you lived in? South Carolina

22. Who was your FIRST roommate? Melissa- we had a tiny dorm room.

23. If you had one wish. What would it be? For the world to be a nice place for my kids to grow up and live in.

24. What is something you would learn if you had the chance? Caligraphy, it's so pretty and elegant.

25. Who do you think will be the next person to post this? Whoever feels like doing this list. Just tell me if you do it so I can read, too!

Stomach Flu

And you thought the stomach flu was bad at your house?

[This picture depicts the carpet and pad that was cut out of our master bedroom] due to large amounts of vomit from my 6 year old. He had just a couple of hours prior eaten Spag & Meatballs for dinner. Did you get the mental image yet? I was so sick at the time (yes, I got sick at the same time as my 6 year old + the 2 year old was still throwing up) I did not even argue when my hubby got out the box cutter and cut a HUGE hole in our carpet! The good news is that we were already thinking about replacing our carpet. I guess it's a definite MUST now!

Birthday Stuff

6 years old!
Blow out those candles!
Yummy cake
All smiles...
Friends and Fun
Big Brother & Lukas
Mom & Big Brother

Big Brother had a fun-filled day celebrating his 6th Birthday. He awoke to his very own SpongeBob Squarepants cake made especially for the birthday boy by his own Mommy & Daddy. I have to admit it was quite yummy too. Then the opening of some cool gifts which included a nerf cover for his Nintendo DS, his own digital camera, and some cool Spiderman (with webs) and Iron Man pj's. Then it was off to the annual oyster roast we attend every year. Big Brother ate LOTS of oysters, played with his buddies, jumped in a jump castle and pulled around a wagon filled with kids, rocks, moss and sticks. He's such a boy!
