What did you do all day???

Too funny not to share......

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house...and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry-way, he found an even bigger mess...A lamp had been knocked over and broken, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room...the TV was loudly blaring a "cartoon channel", and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of children's clothing. In the kitchen...dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed upstairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something rather serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water, as it made its way out from under the bathroom door. As he peered inside, he found wet towels, scummy soap, and more toys strewn over the floor...Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap, toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, there he found his wife... still curled up in bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered, and asked, "What the hell happened here today?" She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work, and you ask me what I did all day?" "Yes," was his incredulous reply. She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."

Thanksgiving craft...

I try... to be one of those "crafty" Moms who always has a seasonal craft for their kids. And this Thanksgiving I actually AM one!!! Check out our Colorful Turkey Caddy!!! Isn't it just so cute? I got the idea from one of my favorite magazines-Family Fun. Will was so.. proud of his turkey. It now sits on our breakfast room table and serves as a really cute Thanksgiving decoration... I, being the craft Mom that I am even mailed Family Fun a copy of Will with his turkey caddy in hopes that they publish it in the next issue. I'll let you know if we are in there next month.....

"Swamp house"

Last weekend the boys and I stayed at my Dad's "swamp house." He no longer lives there so the house just sits empty most of the time. I think the house is really cool especially since it's on a creek and is so... far back in the woods. I really feel like a "country" girl when I stay there. It's a little spooky late at night, but I still enjoy it. There is a bed on the back porch and I love to sleep there when the weather is warm. It's so relaxing to fall asleep to the sound of wildlife. That's one thing I really miss now that I live in "suburbia" ---the sounds of birds and crickets and seeing an occasional deer run across your driveway --that's neat!!!!. Even the sound of gunshot during the wee morning hours takes me back to my childhood when my Dad and brothers hunted during deer season. Darlington will always be HOME to me. I hope my boys will someday appreciate just how special it was to grow up on a tobacco farm and run wild through the woods and corn fields.....

Trip to Darlington....

My Mom & me

My nephew Edwin & Will

Will on his pony ride

My Mom "Rob Rob", Kate, Eliza, Will & Dargan

My Neices-Kate & Eliza Dargan

The boys and I went to Darlington this past weekend to hang out with my Mom, my brothers and their families. While we were there we attended the Catfish Festival in Society Hill, SC. What an experience that was!!! It was a little more crowded than we had anticipated and the lines for a catfish plate were very..... long. Catfish is pretty popular in the big town of Society Hill!!! The kids had a great time anyway, pony rides, bungee pulls, balloons, and jump castles.... While we were in Darlington my neice - Eliza Dargan celebrated her 4th Birthday. Happy Birthday Eliza....
