Tent Time

My 3 boys just love a tent!!! Daddy is going to take Big Brother camping when the weather cools off-which I guess is any day now. The nice thing is that there is a KOA campground right across Highway 17. The boys love to set up the tent in the living room and put all their pillows, blankets and toys in it. I look forward to the day we can all camp as a family-when little brother gets a little older. Daddy and I used to camp a lot before we had the boys. Our favorite spot was on Cape Hatteras, NC. It's such a beautiful, laid back island. One day soon we will be back....and this time with 2 new little campers.

My "TeeTee"

Dargan is VERY attached to his Tee Tee. I made the mistake of allowing him to take it with us out of the house that first time and now it HAS to accompany us everywhere! When Will was a baby I followed all the "baby rules" by the book and his blanket rarely left the comfort of his bed. With the 2nd child it's a different story.. Everyone told me this before I had Dargan-but I said "No, that will never happen." Oh boy, was I wrong....The things I let Dargan get away with to keep the peace....I hope it doesn't come back to haunt me..

A cool ride..

Little Brother loves to ride on his tricycle! He can't quite reach the petals to ride it by himself, but it won't be long....He has gotten quite attached the his lamb "TeeChop" and his blanket "TeeTee" and insists on taking them for a ride too-which is quite difficult when manuvering the tricycle. Most of the time I have to hold TeeChop and Teetee while he concentrates on his steering..."What a big boy I am".........

"Hold My Hand"

The first time I saw Big Brother reach over to his little baby brother in the backseat for his little hand I almost cried. It was just about the cutest thing I had ever seen. They just love each other so much. Even today when I picked Big Brother up from school, the first thing Little Brother did when BB jumped into the car was squeal his name!! The next thing he did was reach out to him to hold his hand until we got home. When we got to the driveway, they gave each other a big hug. I hope and pray that this relationship will continue throughout their lives and that they will always remain the closest of friends.... And yes in case anyone is wondering, the tile of this entry is based on the Hootie & The Blowfish song "Hold My hand" which I absolutely LOVED in college....

Where does the time go???

These pictures are from Halloween 2005-Big Brother was 2 years, 8 months old. How can time have gone by so.. fast??? Looking at these pictures I can see just how much little brother looks like BB did when he was 2. When I look back, my life seemed so easy back then. All I did was take care of BB... We had fun-I mean real fun, almost every day we had an outing such as playgroup, Children's Museum, the playground, bike rides, the pool, etc. Sometimes I feel bad for LB because we hardly ever get to do many one-on-one activities like BB & I did. My life is so much more complicated now-with 2 kids and a real estate career, it doesn't seem like I ever have any free time. My hubby wonders how I have time to blog...Well, I don't --I just make time because I enjoy it so much and know that one day the boys will too..

Just like my big brother...

Dargan copies everything his big brother Will does. And this picture was no exception! Dargan thinks Will is just the coolest thing around. I have to say in Will's defense, he did potty train himself by running around naked in the back yard. I don't really have a problem with it since I grew up in the sticks and using the bathroom in the yard/woods was never a big deal. It's sometimes necessary when you're outside playing and can't take the time to go inside...

New t-shirt...

Big Brother loves his new school! It is so great that he's so excited about learning. I can hardly believe that he has learned so much in just 2 months!!!This past summer I would have never dreamed that he would be reading sight words and doing homework and actually enjoying it too!!! Who would have thought???? I got BB a new school t-shirt last week and he was so excited to wear it to school. He really likes it because it has a Loggerhead Turtle on the pocket. He has been drawing pics for me lately and he always adds a little green turtle on the right pocket so I will know it's a school t-shirt. How cute is that????

Bad Mommy.......

I really feel like a bad Mommy!!! Yesterday I wanted to take a couple of pics of little brother beside the azaleas that are now blooming in our yard...Isn't this a strange time for them to bloom??? I asked him to stand beside our Happy Halloween sign and say "cheese" for me. Well, to my surprise he agreed and gave me a big cheesy smile. Being the picture happy girl that I am, I didn't want him to move just yet since he was being so... cooperative. Then all of a sudden he exclaimed, "Ouch Mommy!!!" I had no idea what he was talking about so I just kept taking pics. After he persisted, I went over to check out the situation. To my surprise I had asked him to stand right on top of an ant hill!!! What a bad Mommy. I felt so bad for the poor little guy and had no idea I had asked him to stand in ants....Needless to say, the poor little guy looks like he has the chicken pox with so many bites all over his ankles. I guess it was a Mom moment that could happen to anyone--I hope!!!!
